Excavator
Trade Skills Training offers this course as a two day on-site course for companies needing to train their operators in the correct and safe use of an Excavator.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and understanding to effectively and safely operate an excavator.
Content of the course covers the following elements relating to operation of an Excavator:
- Conducting routine safety checks
- Planning the work
- Check controls and equipment
- Engineering principles and stability
- Attachments, accessories and associated equipment
- Shifting the load
- Truck loading
- Excavating
- Shut down the equipment
- Securing the work site
Those wishing to participate in this training course will need to be at least 18 years of age, be free of any physical or medical condition that may affect the safe use of an Excavator.
To be successful participants must be able to use the English language to a level that would ensure safe operation in an Australian workplace.
Persons successfully completing the Course will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment in the National Competence Unit "MNMOLH301A - Conduct excavator operations" from the Mining Industry Training Package MNM05.
The course is only available as on site training.
