Trade Skills Training offers this course as a one or two day on-site course for companies needing to train their operators in the correct and safe use of a Skid Steer Loader.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and understanding to effectively and safely operate Skid Steer Loaders in a workplace
Pre-requisite - The pre-requisite for Skid Steer Loader is the OH&S Unit BCCCM1001B "Follow OH&S Policies and Procedures". This Unit is delivered as part of the course as an integral component. Basic Fire techniques and First Aid are components of the pre-requisite.
Content of the course covers the following elements relating to Skid Steer Loader operation:
Those wishing to participate in this training course will need to be at least 18 years of age, be free of any physical or medical condition that may affect the safe use of a Skid Steer Loader.
To be successful participants must be able to use the English language to a level that would ensure safe operation in an Australian workplace.
The usual duration for this course for up to 8 participants, which includes theoretical and practical training and assessment is 2 days, however four 4 or fewer participants it has been found that one day is sufficient.
Persons successfully completing the Course will be awarded a Certificate of Attainment in the National Competence Unit "BCCPO3008B - Conduct skid steer loader operations" from the Mining Industry Training Package MNM05 OR the Construction Training Package BCC07. The OH&S Unit pre-requisite is covered as part of the course itself and the Unit will be listed on the Certificate of Attainment in addition to the Skid Steer Loader Unit.
The course is only available as on site training.
